Grants

Everyone in England & Wales is entitled to a 40% - 100% grant and what's more we can sort out all of the paperwork for you. To find out how much of a grant you are entitled to read the information below, or just call us on 0800 988 3301

Cavity Wall & Loft Insulation Grants
There are 2 types of insulation grants are available to homeowners and private tenants. 100% grants cover the full cost of Cavity Wall Insulation and Loft Insulation. Partial grants for insulation can cover between 40% and 70% of the cost. In both cases, we can arrange for the grants on your behalf and they do not have to be paid back.

100% Insulation Grants
Anyone aged 70 or above is entitled to a Cavity Wall Insulation Grant or Loft Insulation Grant that will cover the entire cost of any insulation work. However, if you are a pensioner aged under 70, you will not receive a 100% insulation grant unless you receive a qualifying benefit.
100% insulation grants are also available to households where any person living in the house receives any of the following benefits, tax credits or allowances:
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Council Tax Benefit (single person's discount and student exemption do not qualify)
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Disabled Persons Tax Credit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Child Tax Credit (net combined household income must be under £15,592, excluding all benefits)
  • Working Tax Credit (net combined household income must be under £15,592, excluding all benefits)
  • Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit *
  • Income-Based Jobseekers Allowance
  • War Disablement Pension **
  • Pension Credit (state pension only does not qualify)
* Must also be in receipt of Constant Attendance Allowance
** Must include Mobility Supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance
Does it sound too good to be true? The Government and utility companies consider these households to be a priority, which is why insulation is offered free of charge. This type of funding is also known as 'Priority Group'. You may be required to provide evidence of your age or benefits received in order to claim this fully funded grant. Restrictions may also apply to large properties or lofts that are already adequately insulated. If special access equipment is required, this not covered by the grant scheme.

Partial Home Insulation Grants
If you do not qualify for a 100% insulation grant, you will still qualify for an insulation grant to cover between 40% and 70% of the installation cost. All homeowners and private tenants are eligible. This is known as 'Able To Pay Funding'. Householders will have to pay a small contribution towards the cost. This is typically recovered within one to two years from the savings made on heating bills. This applies to both Cavity Wall Insulation Grants and Loft Insulation Grants.
