Abilities and experience in environmental management

• Waste management - Design, purchase, installation and operation of complete waste management systems including incineration, waste processing, vehicles and follow up audits of equipment, recycling. I have a good knowledge of most waste processes, and am a member of CIWM.
• Water management - Design purchase. installation and operation of water supply treatment plant. Also bacteriological testing and laboratory specification and installation.
• Sewage systems - Design, purchase, installation and operation of complete sewage plant systems.
• ISO 14001 - System structure design, and writing of EMS systems, I am a chartered environmentalist.
• Training and CMAS - Training courses written for all equipment on site, and all environmental aspects such as wildlife, spills, waste, general awareness etc. Also lectured on Zero waste and how to achieve it. New course written for anyone wishing to work as environmental engineer on a site.
• Emissions - Management of emissions testing procedures for background and point sources.
• Sustainability - Experience in sustainable building and alternative energy sources.
• Engineering - Mechanical and instrument engineering background enables me to assess problems on equipment and systems, and fix them (usually).
• Remediation - Abandonment and remediation of camps and borrow pits. Several in situ bioremediation projects in Denmark and Algeria.
• Auditing - As a lead auditor I have experience in assessing systems and sites around the world, and suggesting/installing simple innovative solutions. I am a member of iema.
• Oil and Gas - Having spent 30 years in the oil and gas industry around the world, offshore and onshore, I have developed a fairly thorough understanding of the process and the workings of a project from design to operations.
• Chemical management - MSDS and COSHH system design and management using SYPOL and manual operating systems.
• Temporary camps - Specification and design, as well as building management.
• Impact Assessments - I have taken part in several EIA’s, including writing one for Bangladesh together with the environment team.
• Legislative reviews - carried out for projects in several countries (Russia, Bangladesh, Algeria, Denmark, UK).
• Rescue - Training of competent persons in rescue from height on sites.
